Specification
The OpenRig specification surface: the canonical reference pages for agent blueprints, pod-aware rig topologies, startup layering, edge semantics, and portable bundles.
These pages are meant to track the shipped parser and validator behavior. New to the concepts? Start with the mental model walkthrough.
The vocabulary. Every term defined — model, agent core, harness runtime, rig, pod, topology, and more.
Portable single-agent blueprint. Defaults, imports, profiles, resource pool, startup, and lifecycle.
Authoring guidance for startup files, skill loading, delivery hints, and layering.
Pod-aware topology artifact. Pods, members, services, edges, startup, and continuity.
What each edge kind means and which ones have runtime behavior today.
Portable archive. RigSpec + vendored AgentSpecs + integrity checksums.
About this specification
The long-term goal is portable artifact formats and shared vocabulary across agent control planes. The pages here, though, are grounded in the current OpenRig implementation, not a detached abstract standard.
If the code and the page disagree, the code wins. These pages should be treated as the website mirror of the canonical reference docs in the `openrig` repo.
